Orkhan Ray is a New York based jazz singer from Baku, Azerbaijan.
Ray is his stage-second name, means a ray of sunlight, born under the Sun.
He is performing since young ages in five different languages.
Orkhan Ray is jazz, soul, blues artist who is trying to talk in music, reflecting his time and bringing together diversity and culture.
Since childhood he was inspired by the greatest jazz legends as Nina Simone, Nat King and Natalie Cole, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, George Benson, Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Quincy Jones and many others.
Orkhan has been a week-leading contestant at national selection of Eurovision Song Contest in 2010. Starting from 2011 he was performing at International Jazz festivals. Orkhan has been a contestant at The Voice TV show in Azerbaijan in 2015. After he moved to New York City he was representing his culture, doing different music festivals in NYC (such as World Heritage and Silk Road Festival at UN). He was acting and singing On&Off Broadway shows at The Black Theater in New York.
